Psychlops is a one-person New Hampshire-based studio project created by Dave Painchaud. In addition to contributing to several NH-based music projects, Painchaud produced three solo tracks in the late spring and summer of 2018. The result is an instrumental reflection of where he saw his life at the time.

Psychlops' "Rephrase" EP is littered with repeating hooks, mathy guitar overdubs, haunting synths, and twinkly riffs. Each song relies on percussive guitar tapping and meter changes. It has been compared to "instrumental American Football" by The Math Rock Times.

"Rephrase" was recorded amidst the mountains of New Hampshire at Loud Sun Studio, where it was produced by Ben Rogers (Death to Tyrants, Moving Pictures). Each composition begins as a hill, eventually evolving into swells of layers before reaching its nival peak. "Rephrase" is an unaccompanied expedition through the curious and the comforting.
